Many ghetto youths and dancehall-reggae fans who might fail to attend the Jamaican singer Busy Signal’s debut concert in Zimbabwe have been presented with a rare opportunity at to meet with the musician right in the GHETTO.
Born Glendale Goshia Gordon, Busy Signal is expected to tour various high-density suburbs to meet his fans before his grand performance on Saturday at the Glamis Stadium, Harare after touching down at the Harare International Airport on Friday.
The Dreams of Brighter Days hitmaker will bring his 12-member band for the much-awaited concert, courtesy of Devine Assignments and Chipaz Promotions.
The concert will be part of the Jamaican artist’s African tour that will see him perform in Uganda and Malawi, among several other countries.
Speaking to NewsDay yesterday, Devine Assignments boss and award-winning music promoter Biggie Chinoperekwei said after touring some high-density suburbs among them Mbare, Glen View, Highfields and Mufakose, fans can also mix and mingle with the musician at a welcome and after party.
“We have organised a welcome party for Busy Signal upon his arrival at Club 1+1 situated at Long Cheng Plaza in Belvedere. From Club 1+1, fans can also join the musician for an after party at Private Lounge,” Chinoperekwei said.
He said they had strategically delayed the selling of tickets that would only be on sale a day before the concert for security reasons.
“No official tickets have been released yet. We are going to sell tickets on Friday and we urge fans to buy them at the designated outlets to be announced on Wednesday. Admission is $10; VIP is going for $20 with our VVIP selling at $50,” he said.
Busy Signal has already confirmed the concert through various social media platforms and a video drop has also been released to confirm the concert.
At the much-awaited concert which is expected to be a banger with the wide fan base the One More Night hitmaker commands locally, he will share the stage with an array of local chanters among them Winky D, Soul Jah Love, Dadza D, Killer T and Seh Calaz while Templeman and Gary B, Dj Cables, Judgment Yard Sounds and Smiley will be rocking it on the turntables.
