China-based Zimbabwean model, Letwin Chnomona is representing Zimbabwe at this year’s World Next Top Model to be held in Beirut.
The 21-year-old International Law student will go in camp a day before the competition, which runs May 15 to June 5. The event will be broadcast live on DSTV, MTV Channel 130. In an interview, Chinomona expressed her gratitude for getting an opportunity to represent the country. “I am so honoured to be taking part in this prestigious pageant. “I feel this is one of the best opportunities I have had since I started modelling. “I have already started the preparations with intensive personal training and some grooming lessons. I promise to bring the crown back home and follow in my predecessor Letwin Tiriwange’s footsteps,” she said.
Chinomona who is 1,84m tall, the standard height for modelling, said although it is tough living in foreign land, China has opened doors for her. “I started this journey two years back. I entered the Miss Zimbabwe
2014 competition and landed the second princess title. It came to me as a surprise considering that was my first time on ramp. “I later moved to China for my four-year degree programme and went back to modelling. “Although it wasn’t easy at first because of racial factors but I remained strong and here I am. I got booked by one of the largest underwear companies in China called Laca as well as Vogue,” she said.
