The film that was supposed to help struggling Mudhara Bhonzo has hit the financial buffers. The Mapeto film that features veteran actor Lawrence Simbarashe, was supposed to have premiered last Saturday. That never happened and will not see the light of day unless $1 500 is raised. Thee film producer Marlon Murape told Newsday
We are stuck at the moment because of financial challenges to conclude the film, as we are selffunding the project. We finished shooting a longtime ago and we are now praying that we can secure money for the final touches. “We have been getting assistance from wellwishers, while the actors have been forking out their money for transport and food, but things are tight, hence we have reached the decision to postpone its premiere to June.
”Murape said people must not rush to criticise, but appreciate efforts by upcoming filmmakers as they are selffunding the productions for the love of art.
