A CIVIL servant allegedly assaulted his wife after she found used co_ndoms in his bag.Fortune Mutasa,36,is said to have turned violent when his wife Marla Kapurira confronted him over used co_ndoms that fell from his satchel when their son opened it.He allegedly held her by the collar,shook her and then punched her.
Mutasa appeared before Mbare magistrate Shelly Zvenyika answering to allegations of physical abuse.He denied the allegations and was remanded out of custody on US$30 bail to tomorrow for trial continuation.The State,led by Hatizivo Chatikobo alleges that on March 31,Mutasa arrived home and found his wife sitting with the children.
His elder son took his bag and opened it and used co_ndoms fell from it and Mutasa gasped.
Kapurira asked him about the co_ndoms and he failed to give her a satisfactory answer.
A heated argument ensued between the two.At the height of the argument,Mutasa grabbed Kapurira by the collar and shook her.He assaulted her with fists and booted feet and pushed her against the window.
The window pane broke and she sustained cuts on her hands from the broken pieces.She also got a swollen eye from the beating and a cut on her upper lip.She then fled with the bag to her relatives and narrated her ordeal.
Kapurira then lodged a complaint with the police leading to Mutasa’s arrest
