War vets leader arrested… family held hostage in Chitungwiza

Seven armed men have reportedly stormed the home of Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association, Secretary for Information and Publicity Douglas Mahiya in Chitungwiza and reportedly held his family hostage.

The Seven men are reported to have arrived at Mahiya’s home driving in a Toyota Vigo and ordered that no one would leave the place.

The Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition alert says that phones belonging to Mahiya’s family members have been confiscated as well.

Currently Mahiya has reported at Law and Order Section at Harare Central and is being represented by Nyika Kanengoni and Partners.

Mahiya has of late been fingered as part of the so called rogue war veterans within Zanu PF who crafted the communique that divorced the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association from the leadership of President Mugabe.
