Top South African music diva, Zahara rocked the HICC on Saturday night despite the low turnout.
As always, she serenaded the audience with her popular songs like ‘Fundiza’ and ‘Destiny’. She also sang her new songs, which are not very familiar to the local audience but made them happy anyway.
As a seasoned and experienced artist with new music to promote, she resisted the pressure to sing one of her hits, ‘Loliwe’ which the audience were crying out for.
Members of the VIP who were close to the stage got a chance to sing and dance with Zahara on the stage. At once she invited some guy to sing the Shona lyrics of her song ‘Ndabvunza’.
“It feels like I am at home. I like it here in Zimbabwe and I think I am going to buy myself a home here because it is a good place,” said Zahara.
With virtually an empty auditorium, the diva managed to bring smiles and happiness to the handful which had attended the event.
The event started with the Star FM People’s Choice Awards and then Jah Prayzah got on stage where he set the stage on fire in preparation for Zahara.
Sulumani Chimbetu, who was billed to perform at the event, did not show up for unknown reasons.
“I was happy about the event. I think that the low turnout was good because I could go and dance with Zahara on stage,” said a lady named Linda, who got invited to sing and dance on stage with Zahara.
The show pleased the local Zahara fans who were present.
