LATEST on 2 na_ked girls who were assaulted in car

Mbalenhle Mitchell Magama, Tapiwa Chiwundo and Kholwani Baloyi all aged 24 who allegedly took a video of themselves assaulting Namibian students whom they accused of bedding Magama’s lover, will appear in court today.

The video has since gone viral on social media networks.

The parents of Nancy and Cassie who are expected in the country today, are said to have been incensed when they saw their children being humiliated in the recording.

Magama, Chiwundo and Baloyi are facing charges of kidnapping, assault and distributing pornography.

In the video the trio use a rubber slipper to beat up the two Namibians over Magama’s lover identified as Makomborero Chikomo and not Makhosi as earlier reported.

Sources close to the two students said Nancy’s father and Cassie’s mother are expected in the country today.

“Nancy’s father saw the video circulating on Facebook in Namibia so I heard. He’ll be arriving either today or tomorrow to pursue his daughter’s case. He is said to have been disturbed after watching the video of his na_ked daughter being beaten and shamed,” said a source close to the students.

Another source said Cassie’s mother will also be arriving today.

A comment could not be obtained from the two students as they were not reachable on their cellphones.

Yesterday Chikomo, the man who is alleged to be at the centre of the controversy, said he did not know the three women, although The Chronicle has pictures of him and Magama looking cosy.

“I don’t know them and I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t have a wife or a girlfriend,” said Chikomo.

However, Magama’s Facebook wall has pictures of the pair being cosy and in her Facebook status; she says she is in a relationship with Chikomo.

On Friday Nancy told a Chronicle news crew that she does not want to talk about the traumatic experience she endured in a foreign land.

The incident is said to have occurred on March, 24 but the pair only reported the assault to the police after the video started circulating on social media.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango on Friday confirmed the trio’s arrest.
