Mhere denies promoting satanism

Gospel musician Mathias Mhere has dismissed rumours that his forthcoming DVD promotes satanism after images were linked to the practice.

Mhere who posted a photo of him with a horned devilish character on his Facebook Page says he was only proving his artistically acquired prowess.

I have taken these pictures from my forthcoming DVD and its nothing to worry about, I am an artiste and this was just a wonderful script,” he said.

The image that is circulating is from his song titled Mwari Ngavandiperekedzewo and has the singer in a deep sleep whilst a horned ghost like creature lies next to him.

Mhere’s fans have complained over the creature in the image and wondered how a Christian video would explicitly promote the two.

The DVD was shot in Botswana where the musician has also added two bonus tracks from which he feels his concept will develop further.

The Favour singer said he was just portraying his journey and how God has been protecting him.

“You will see when the video comes out that it begins with me involving myself in rituals and all that was against God, I got help from angels and get deliverance just like anyone else.

“When I encounter this character that people feel disturbed with, I am only placing myself in the shoes of a served Christian who is no longer afraid of the same bad spirits and as Christians I exercise my power to conquer it,” he said.

The DVD which is already set will be launched in the streets beginning on August 3.
Songs on the album include Makorokoza Muchurch, the title track Double Double, Nhava Yebenzi, Elijah NaMwari and Be Still among others.
